5 Fall Wardrobe Must Haves

a woman looking at her fall wardrobe must haves

Fall is coming sooner than you think.  Cozy crisp weather, fall fashion, and pumpkin spice the hell outta everything.  But more importantly what are you going to be strutting in this fall season?  Here are some tips and suggestions to boost your fall wardrobe.

1. FALL WARDROBE MUST HAVE: Sunglasses

As the seasons change, you switch out your skincare and clothing, but sunglasses need switching too!  Ditch the bright frames and substitute black, brown or tortoise into the mix to compliment endless fall pieces.

Fall/winter frame colors are pretty straight forward, so the style of the frames really matter.  Cat eye is one that compliments so many face shapes and adds a feminine yet bad b*tch type vibe.  These Saint Laurent ones are perfection along with Bottega Veneta’s brown and gold cat eyes.   Dezi “On Read” cat eye frames are so cute, and you can choose from four different colors.

Aviators are always a casual yet classic look.  Opt for a dressier design or more casual depending on your personality.  Saint Laurent aviators make for a super casual coffee run look, or go with the Quay aviators in Vivienne. I love the all black, they look strong and stylish. Quay also makes these in different fades as well.

Oversized frames are such a statement piece, for a casual look or to pair with a flashy blazer.  They’re what you reach for when you’re hungover and must go out into civilization.  Saint Laurent New Wave SL 1 are for sure a splurge, but I had to mention them because they’re sickening.  They’re leather embossed crocodile and are so sleek and flattering on the face.  I had snatched a pair a while back with silver studs and I always reach for them.  They’re one of my favorites.

Dior is known for their super oversized sunglasses.  The 30Montaigne ones are so fun and if you have the face for it, rock them.  Quay x Lizzo “Level Up” sunglasses are similar to the YSL ones and are super cute with gold trim on the top.  The frame structure gives it a luxury feel, and they come in two different colors.  Quay “After Hours” in tortoise/brown are cute for a throw on and run errands kind of mood.

2. FALL WARDROBE MUST HAVE: Blazer

Blazers are a staple piece in a wardrobe.  Whether they’re fitted or made for a looser fit, they add sophistication to a basic outfit.  Wear them with jeans and a tee, a low-cut top and some leather pants, or flared trousers with pumps.  They’re so versatile and flattering.  Everyone needs a blazer in their wardrobe.

Alexander McQueen Crêpe Blazer is a beautiful structured blazer with strong shoulders and cut for a shapely look.  More of a dressy blazer, for a night out or meeting.  L’Agence Diana Skinny Lapel Blazer is a beautiful plaid print blazer.  Perfect with jeans a white top and heels for drinks or jeans and sneakers for grocery shopping.

Asos Design Perfect Black Blazer is a great relaxed fit blazer with a bit of a structured shoulder.  BlankNYC Faux Leather Blazer is a cute, dressy yet casual option, depending how much you want to dress it up or down.  The faux leather gives it a nice contrast against a sweater and jeans.

3. FALL WARDROBE MUST HAVE: Booties

Booties…the crowned shoe of the season.  Ugh, there’s something about putting on jeans, a light jacket, and some booties with a little bit of height.  Feels damn good.  I think it’s important to have options and variety when it comes to boots and booties.

Having a pair of black booties is essential either with height or not.  Can’t go wrong with Saint Laurent leather ankle boots, sleek, quality and goes with just about everything.  Gianvito Rossi pointed toe leather booties with a bit of a heel.  Another pair you can’t go wrong with, I have these in white and they’re a dream.  So comfortable, flattering on so many bodies, and fits true to size.

For a pop of color and something a little more western looking, these Isabel Marant boots are the cutest paired with jeans and an oversized sweater.  *Adds to wish list* Steve Madden black pointed toe boots with a thick heel are a forever classic and chic look.  Kenneth Cole leather embossed burnt orange heels are so stylish and perfect for the season.  These are sexy yet casual, like I’m just mailing these letters but I’m also down to party.

4. FALL WARDROBE MUST HAVE: Hats

Hats are such a beautiful accessory for fall and winter.  I’m talking like actual brim hats not beanies.  Beanies are cute don’t get me wrong but they’re like whatevs at the same time.

The Saint Laurent peaked cap is so stunning, perfect for a fall brunch look.  Can you tell I like YSL??  This is decently priced for a good quality designer wool hat.  Valentino Garavani’s beautiful felt hat for fall.  I love when I see women wearing them.  They’re so flattering and sophisticated.  Isabel Marant’s hat is more casual and pairs super cute with a sweater and jeans or skirt.  BRIXTON hats are casual as well, but add a nice “umph” to an outfit.  They come in multiple colors too.

5. FALL WARDROBE MUST HAVE: Belts

Sporting a great belt can say so much about an outfit.  Whether you’re wearing jeans and a white tee or a sweater dress, belts make great accessories.  Waist belts are fabulous.  They bring shape to your body while wearing a boxy sweater dress.

Isabel Marant belts are perfect for boxy dresses to cinch your waist.  They’re perfectly structured and easy as pie to take on and off.  They’re subtle but make a statement.  I love these!! So much better than those big logo Gucci belts, sorry I’m not sorry!  This Saint Laurent one would look so cute with light blue jeans, a white top, and a checkered blazer with some slip on mules…a causal flex if you will.

I don’t know about y’all, but I am looking forward to cooler weather.  Walking around Manhattan in these masks in brutal!  Stay safe and happy fall x

Hopefully these suggestions were an inspiration to you.  As a reminder personal style is a way of expressing yourself, and you should always dress how you want to dress.   Don’t worry about what others will think.  There’s nothing more attractive than a woman who feels confident in her outfit, no matter what.

In the words of G. Bruce Boyer, “Real style is never right or wrong. It’s a matter of being yourself on purpose”

With Love,

Nicole
